A (Release) Day in the Life of a Best Selling Author

This morning, my newest book was released into the world. And it's not just any book. I'm launching a new series, which makes release day extra stressful.
(Check it out here if you're into MM Special Ops romance.)
So I thought it would be fun to take you along with me on how I spend a release day as a best selling author.
7am - Crawl out of bed and check my that the book actually went live. (It did, yay!)
7.30 - Make breakfast for kiddo and check email.
8am - Create promo graphics and find any and all social media groups that will allow me to pimp the shit out of it.
8.15 - Check royalties and remind myself that there is always a delay in reporting, plus it's Monday and people are at work.
8.20 - Do my morning routine.
9am - Look around the house and realize that it's completely trashed because I've spent the last week finalize my book for launch day and ignored literally everything else around me.
9.10 - 1pm - Reorganize and clean my entire house while son does homeschool on the computer and complains about the smell of bleach.
1pm - Check royalties and remind myself that there is always a delay in reporting, plus it's Monday and people are at work...then lay on the couch and convince myself that I'm a failure.
2pm - Tell myself to get up and stop being an idiot. I'm not a failure, the book is great, and people are excited to get into the new series. Also, I should probably eat something today.
3pm - Try to figure out what's for dinner because I've completely abandoned my meal plan by this point in the month and we can't eat shredded cheese out of the bag for dinner...again.
4pm - Throw dinner in the oven and lay on the couch playing Hay Day on my phone to try to avoid looking at my royalties again...because there is always a delay in reporting, plus it's Monday and people are at work.
5pm - Eat dinner with the family then clean up. (Why do I always serve this kid rice on the days that I sweep and mop the kitchen floor?)
6pm - Lay on the couch and play Hay Day on my phone.
7pm - Smash half a bag of Doritos, a banana, two mandarins and half a piece of tiramisu that I found in the fridge because I didn't eat all day and dinner was rice and vegetables.
8pm - Check my royalties and cry because holy shit...there was a delay in reporting and people are snapping this book up like crazy today!
9pm - Meditate with the kid.
9.30 - Set up my planner for tomorrow. (More promo, more cleaning, more panicking.)
10pm - Fall into bed with a Harry Potter FanFic on my Kindle and be grateful for the most amazing fans in the entire world.
There it is...my typical release day routine. Rinse and repeat for pretty much every book launch.
The life of an author is very exciting and I'm so glad I was able to give you this peak behind the curtain.
I hope you enjoyed it.
